Arrival at Port Blair in the morning by flight/ship and transfer to hotel. After lunch visit Ross Island which is about 2 km east of Port Blair and can be reached by a short boat ride from Phoenix Bay Jetty. The island is controlled by the Indian navy, which requires every visitor to sign in on entering. This Island the erstwhile capital of Port Blair during the British regime, is a tiny island situated few Kilometers away from Port Blair
city. The island presently houses the ruins of old buildings like Ballroom, Chief Commissioner’s House, Govt. House, Church, Hospital, Bakery, Press, Swimming Pool and Troop Barracks, all in dilapidated condition, reminiscent of the old British regime. There is also a cemetery and a small museum managed by the Indian Navy. The museum has on display a collection of old records. This island is an ideal destination for nature walk amidst sylvan surroundings with deers, peacocks, and exotic birds. Late evening witness the enthralling Sound and Light Show at Cellular Jail – where the heroic saga of the Indian freedom struggle is brought alive.

Enjoy your afternoon at the World Famous Radha Nagar Beach (Which is locally called as Beach number 7). The island is well known for its famous beaches. Cellular Jail, located at Port Blair, stood mute witness to the tortures meted out to the freedom fighters, who were incarcerated in this jail. The jail, completed in the year 1906 acquired the name ‘Cellular’ because it is entirely made up of individual cells for the solitary confinement. It originally was a seven prolonged, puce-coloured building with central-tower acting as its fulcrum and a massive structure comprising honeycomb like corridors. The building was subsequently damaged and presently three out of the seven prongs are intact. The Jail, now a place of pilgrimage for all freedom loving people, has been declared a National Memorial. The jail museum here draws your memories back to those years of freedom struggle.
